National projectThe Wilmcote House EnerPHiT project was a renovation project in which an old residential building was retrofitted and its lifespan was increased by 40 years after the city council had decided against taking the building down. Comprehensive retrofit of the entire building using Passivhaus technology for all measures including insulation, improvements in airtightness, roof replacement, installation of triple glazed windows, extension of the living areas, more efficient heating and hot water systems, adjustment of the ventilation with heat recovery system.

The Solar House
National projectIn a multi-story building of 3,700 households located in an underprivileged area of Copenhagen, the tenants decided together to produce electricity from solar PV and water heating from solar thermal. The project is owned by the housing estate, and the tenants contribute financially to the project through additions on top of their monthly rent or mortgage payments.

European projectSocialWatt aimed to enable obligated parties under Article 7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive across Europe to develop, adopt, test and spread innovative schemes to alleviate energy poverty. The appropriate tools developed within the framework of SocialWatt aimed to help utilities and energy suppliers effectively identify energy poor households, as well as develop and monitor schemes that focus on increasing the energy efficiency of these houses. The ‘SocialWatt Analyser’ tool combined such data with other available data (national, regional and local statistical data, data from social services etc.) to support utilities and energy suppliers identify energy poor citizens.

National projectNew wall panels are prefabricated off-site and arrived in ‘full story heights’ complete with ample insulation and a durable board finish ready to crane into place. The radical retrofit was completed in less than one week with occupants able to remain in residence throughout the works. Tenants are consulted in the design process and are allowed to choose colours on finishes etc. The tenants also provide a "wish list" which informed the project brief.
