Penalties for poorly isolated roofs (Vlaamse dakisolatienorm - Strafpunten voor onvoldoende geisoleerde daken)

Flanders introduced a minimum standard for roof insulations (www.energiesparen.be/vlaamsedakisolatienorm). Roofs can either be inspected by a technical housing quality researcher or determined through the EPC score of the home. Since 2020, the awarded penalty points increased to 15 (see flemish building code) and results in a declaration of unsuitability by the mayor, forcing the owner to carry out the necessary works to make the building compliant.
